Smashed Saint (Janet Jun) is a poet, multimedia artist, educator, visionary, and follower of Jesus Christ. She will be sharing in spoken word at Emmaus Church on November 20th at our 10am service!
Her visual works are generally inspired by and created in atmospheres of music, worship, community, and the presence of God. In 2013, Smashed Saint and a group of artists partook in a 3-month journey of exploring art as prayer with Greenly Art Space in Signal Hill. Through this, she created a multimedia sculpture which expresses the agonies and injustice of modern day slavery and the redemption available through Jesus Christ while carrying the heart of intercession. Her more recent work encompasses abstract expressions of worship and revelation through acrylic and graphite mediums. Related to her creative endeavors, Smashed Saint has a deep passion for local and overseas justice work, and travels frequently. She's continually looking for ways that people, art and justice can converge to build and sustain heavenly community. She desires that her entire life and creative projects be a testimony of the love, grace, and power of an absolutely beautiful God.
